Komovsky vacuum pump

The pump is designed to create rarefaction and air pressure in vessels. The pump can be used for demonstration experiments with Newton's tube, Magdeburg hemispheres, baroscope, geron ball, manometer, "fountain in the void" experiment, demonstration of sound waves propagation, electric discharge in thin air, as well as other experiments requiring reduced or increased pressure.

The device is an oil piston pump based on air shut-off. The movement of the piston is provided by a connecting rod and crank mechanism connected to a manual actuator.
