Atmospheric pressure demonstrator (Magdeburg hemispheres)
Designed to demonstrate the existence of atmospheric pressure and its strength.
The device is two hemispheres with handles.
A nipple with a faucet is attached to one of them.
Used with a vacuum pump.
Cast iron magdeburg hemisphere.
Made of cast iron, this is a perfect replica of a traditional Magdeburg hemisphere.
A brass valve is installed in one of the hemispheres to remove and seal the vacuum.
The hemispheres are connected and the air is removed with an air pump.
Once the air has been removed, your students will find it nearly impossible to separate the disks.
Re-inserted disks are easily separated.
Instructions provided.
Measures 4-1/2" diameter by 5-1/2" height.
Weight is 4 pounds.
For best function, make sure the handles are not twisted, as this can pull the halves apart and prevent the vaccine from sealing.
